Death’s Excellent Vacation edited by Charlaine Harris and Toni L.P. Kelner

This anthology contains short urban fantasy stories that all in some way involve vacations. I particularly liked Two Blondes (the Sookie Stackhouse), Safe and Sound (I love Jeff Abbott), The Perils of Eferjim (flat out funny), The Demon in the Dunes (great, unexpected ending), and Pirate Dave’s Haunted Amusement Park (vampires, sexy pirates, and some decent twists).

Overall, better than most anthologies, although I’d have loved to have seen a Jim Butcher contribution (and if any character needs to go on a vacation, it’s Harry Dresden).

    1. I figured general busyness probably had a lot to do with it. He’s only trying to keep up with two highly successful series. I should have his compilation of Harry Dresden short stories in my hot little hands tomorrow, courtesy of Barnes & Noble online. Can’t wait to dive in!
