Big Boned by Meg Cabot

Heather Wells, washed-up, overweight teen pop sensation, works as an Assistant Dormitory Director at New York College’s Fischer Hall, which has earned the nickname “The Death Dorm” because several murders have taken place there. As the book opens, Heather comes to work to find her boss dead in his office.

I love this series. Heather is likable and snarky, the plots are fast-paced, and the characters generally larger than life. Cabot’s books are like potato chips: fun, a little salty, and impossible to put down.
